Numworx\u2019s student version does not require Java and works in every modern browser. A teacher\u2019s version of Numworx is available to manage classes, check students\u2019 work and to do other teachers tasks as well as school admin operations. For this version you only need a PC\/Mac desktop or laptop or a tablet computer with webbrowser. To adapt modules Numworx Author is required. This software can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.numworx.nl\/en\/support\/downloads\/\">downloaded here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<h4>Accounts and (school)administration<\/h4>\n\n<div class=\"panel-group\" id=\"accordionname199\"><div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname199\" href=\"#collapse1990\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>I have lost my password, what should I do?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse1990\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>Click on 'Forgot password?' in the log-in page. The user name and e-mail address must match the information submitted originally to Numworx\/DWO. Students who have forgotten their password can apply for a new one by clicking on 'Forgot password?' in the log-in page. If the teacher opened the student accounts, the way to change the password is via 'My classes and then the button with little figures after the class's name'. Click on the pen in the student\u2019s corresponding edit column, then fill in a new password in the pop-up.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname199\" href=\"#collapse1992\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>How do I find out who my school\u2019s schooladmin is?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse1992\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>There is no quick way to find this in Numworx\/DWO. In principle the schooladmin should be the contact person who originally registered the school. The key codes which the school\u2019s contact person received allow multiple schooladmin accounts to be made for a school.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname199\" href=\"#collapse1993\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>How can I delete students from the class or school quickly, for example to start the new academic year with a clean slate?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse1993\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>As schooladmin you can delete an entire group of students from the system by selecting the class\u2019s student summary. Click first on 'My classes' and then the button with the figures after the class\u2019s name. Then select the students you want to remove and the button at the top 'Delete selected'. This removes students from the class but not the school. To delete a class: Click on 'My classes' and then on the Delete button after the class's name.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname199\" href=\"#collapse1994\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>How can I move students quickly from one class to another? Your subscription is renewed automatically each year and the new year begins at the start of the new school year. It you subscribed after September 2016, you still do not need to do anything. Your subscription is renewed automatically and the new year starts the following year. The fee is automatically deducted from your account at the start of the new period, or you will receive a bill, depending on the choice you made when you subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname199\" href=\"#collapse1997\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>Subscribing and unsubscribing, how does that work?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse1997\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>A Numworx subscription for educational institutions runs for one year, starting from the moment the subscription was submitted. Subscriptions are renewed automatically for a year unless otherwise instructed. To unsubscribe send instructions to that effect in writing (email) at least one day before the subscription is due to update automatically.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname199\" href=\"#collapse1998\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>I want to export the result summary from DWO to Excel and keep the colours. Is that possible?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse1998\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>Excel allows users to choose colours for cells under certain conditions. A file to enable you to change the Numworx\/DWO colour scheme is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.numworx.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Scorebestand-kleuren.xlsx\">available here to download<\/a>. Copy the results from DWO (using 'Copy to Clipboard' in the result column), click the top cell, left, in Excel and paste the results using Ctrl+V.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Testing with Numworx<\/h4>\n\n<div class=\"panel-group\" id=\"accordionname793\"><div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname793\" href=\"#collapse7930\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>How do I create a self-test or test for my students?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse7930\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>You can copy an existing activity and use it to build your own test. The way to copy an existing activity and to adapt the copy is described in chapter 12 of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dwo.nl\/downloads\/ManualDME.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Numworx manual<\/a>. When you assign a test module to your class you can set a start and finish time. See chapter 6.4 in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dwo.nl\/downloads\/ManualDME.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Numworx manual for more information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname793\" href=\"#collapse7932\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>How can I ensure that pupils will not use Internet or other programmes during a test?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse7932\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>There is currently an effort to make this option available in the present HTML5 version of Numworx. It is possible to set tests in an isolated environment in the Java environment of DWO. When assigning the test module to the class, click \u2018normal\u2019 in the 'kind' column. This brings up the option 'secured', which allows you to select the desired effect. Students who try to use a program other than DWO receive a warning. They must return to the test immediately or it closes within seconds. In that case they may be able to restart the test but the teacher will be able to see in the results that the test was interrupted.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Adjusting the material (Editor)<\/h4>\n\n<div class=\"panel-group\" id=\"accordionname813\"><div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname813\" href=\"#collapse8130\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>I want to change the activity settings. How can I do that?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse8130\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>As a teacher you cannot change standard activities. But you can copy a module or activity to your own school environment. Note that an activity is always part of a module, so if you only want the activity, you need to create your own module in which to hold it. Once the module or activity is in your school environment you can click on the activity and select \u2018Bewerken\u2019 at the top of the window. All the teachers at your school can see them if they have a teacher account from your school. Note that they can also make changes. So make clear rules about this at your school. For example, give each teacher a personal directory, or create a directory for the academic year or level. If necessary you can divide the directory even further. Your students can only see the modules you have adjusted when you assign these to their class.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionname813\" href=\"#collapse8132\"><h5><i class=\"kt-icon-minus primary-color\"><\/i><i class=\"kt-icon-plus\"><\/i>While working on one of the standard modules my students were told there was a syntax error, or the correct answer was marked as incorrect. What can I do about this?<\/h5><\/a><\/div><div id=\"collapse8132\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body postclass\">\n<p>We are tremendously grateful to be kept informed of any errors that may occur in the material. We correct the material and make sure the new version is ready for the coming school year. If you want to use a corrected version straight away you will need to copy the standard module to your own school environment. Then you can adjust the copied module and remove the error. We actually want x and 0 as answer. Placing the brackets, for example #ax+b# instead of #a#x+#b# prevents expressions such as \"1x + 0\". If a=1 and b=0 the result is x.
